Google's UGC spam guidance: what AI tools should index
Since 26 October 2026, Google has asked tools that publish shared pages, generated content or web apps to index only what's meant for Search. For shared chats, artifacts and user-built apps, it recommends noindex or a crawl block by default; if those pages are already indexed, use noindex without blocking them in robots.txt, or Google won't see the rule.

Based on data published or updated between September and October 2026, visibility in AI assistants doesn't pay off as a traffic channel: across three studies, Google organic search sent far more visits and conversions. Semrush AI Visibility Index by country: what it measures
Semrush's AI Visibility Index tracks which brands ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews mention and which domains they cite, by market, month and industry, with no overall score. The October 2026 edition only compares the UK and US. For Spain and other markets, Semrush offers data in its paid tool, with a different metric.
